We provide volunteer Emergency Medical & Rescue services to North Brunswick and surrounding communities with 4 Type-3 Ford ambulances, 2 support vans, a small boat and a state-of-the-art Rescue Truck!
The North Brunswick First Aid and Rescue Squad is North Brunswick Township's EMS and Rescue agency. We have served our community since 1955 as a non-profit organization composed primarily of volunteer professionals and recently supplemented with paid staff. We provide Basic Life Support services and work with RWJUH's ALS in NJ's two tier EMS system.
We operate out of two locations. Our primary location is 880 Ridgewood Ave (see our Contact Us section for more details). It is easily accessible via public transportation and is located minutes from Routes 1, 130 and 27. Our sub-station is located in the Renaissance development off Rt 130.
Our fleet includes 3 ambulances, a state-of-the-art Technical Rescue Truck, a rescue boat, a four-wheel drive support truck, a Mass Casualty Support trailer, two support vans and a Command vehicle. We also have a bike team that can be deployed for pre-planned events during good weather. We also often send a unit to Rutgers University Football games when requested.
NBFARS is an active member of the State of New Jersey’s EMS Task Force, and has members involved in management of their Technology & Communications group, Finance team and other areas.
In addition to operations, NBFARS routinely teaches CPR & First Aid classes and hosts EMT CEU classes for both in-house and external classes. Please see our site calendar for the training schedule.
